The Sunglass Shop on Ocracoke is the largest independently owned shop in NC. On a normal day we have no less that 2,200 pairs of sunglasses on display and an additional 1,000+ pairs as backup inventory.

Our Ray-Ban collection includes your favorite retro styles from the USA and from Ray-Ban's European collection. We also carry SunCloud from Smith Optics, Cocoons-the wearover Rx prescription glasses and clip-ons from Live Eyewear, Chili's, Pepper's, Solize from Del Sol that have a lifetime replacement warranty, Identity, SOHO, and BluVision.. Of course, to help protect your investment, we have the largest selection of Croakies and Cablz eyewear retainers on the OBX.
Our Costa collection has both the 400nm and 580nm glass lenses, with the 580nm lens being the most technical lens in our lineup. The patented 580nm lens blocks the lightwaves below 580nm. Just below 580nm is where the nasty yellow light lives. And many people's eyes, especially men, have difficulty processing yellow light. With the yellow filtered out, these lenses turn up the visual volume of the red, blue and greens. This results in you having sharper contrast, better definition and enhanced colors in any environment. Our collection also includes Costa's C-Mates, their polarized bifocal reading styles with tough CR 39 lenses. It's a harsh world outside.
